ABOUT AYSGARTH STATION Our 100+ year old home located in downtown Bar Harbor, and was built in 1895. Aysgarth Station has had many owners over the years, each of which has left their own mark on the house. It has seen generations come and go; it has been a private residence and for many years provided room and board for the Greyhound Bus Drivers who came and went throughout the years and now provides guests with wonderful accommodations in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Aysgarth Station gets its unique name from one of the prettiest locations anywhere, (except for Bar Harbor, of course!). The small town of Aysgarth is located in Yorkshire, England, where Jane grew up and spent many wonderful summer vacations.
Our charming inn is right downtown on a quiet side street, located conveniently close to Bar Harbor's busy waterfront, shops, restaurants, a classic Art Deco movie theater and the winding Shore Path walk; which wraps around the oceanfront and the remaining ‘cottages’ from days gone by.
Please--No smoking, For the comfort of all our guests, we are a smoke free Inn No pets, our cats will get jealous. We regret that we are not set up to accommodate young children. We offer off-season rates and discounts on extended stays. Visa, MasterCard and Discover accepted. |
